Rickey Wayne Green passed away peacefully at his home, into the loving arms of Jesus, surrounded by his loving family on July 14, 2023.

He was born February 21, 1954 in Buckhannon the son of the late Okey and Mearl Duley Green.

He is survived by his loving wife and the love of his life Connie Hollandsworth Green; children, Freda Carpenter of South Carolina and Kenny (Jillian) Green of Cowen; grandchildren, Allissa (Jeffery) Sill, Serenity Cole, Kennley Green, Riley Sill and baby Sill; brother Okey Jr. Green of Arizona; sister, Shelia Thaxton of Sissonsville, WV; as well as, many nieces and nephews whom he thought the world of, and brother in law Kenneth (Freda) Hollandsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Denzil Green and infant brother; sister, Madaline Getch and two infant sisters; brother in law Darrell Thaxton; sisters in law, Joy Green and Carolyn Green; father in law, Gerald Hollandsworth; and mother in law, Rosalie Hollandsworth.  Special thanks to Lezlie Short our bonus granddaughter, WCMH Ambulance Services, Frensenius Dialysis, and Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Rick was a loving husband, father, papaw, son, brother and uncle.   His family was his life.  He enjoyed the family trips to Pigeon Forge, Surfside Beach, camping, four wheeling and him and his honeys’ sightseeing trips.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Morris Funeral Home in Cowen, with Pastor Larry Lovely officiating.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service at Morris Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Cowen, WV
