Montie Zane Jordan, formerly of Webster Springs, West Virginia, passed away with his family at his home in McConnelsville, Ohio on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

He was born in Lewis County on August 29, 1939, a son of the late Dave Nile Jordan and Rosa Lee Cogar Jordan.

Cherishing their memories of Montie are  his wife:  Frances Jordan of McConnelsville, OH; four children: Tammy McCoy and husband, Shawn, of Webster Springs, WV, Monica Cogar, of Webster Springs, WV, Michael Jordan and wife, Christina, of Cowen, WV, and Carla Wilson and husband Jeffrey of McConnelsville, OH; grandchildren: Shaunda, Samantha, Justina, Ryan, Zane, Anthony, Elana, and Preston; several great grandchildren and three siblings:  Wilma Lee of Brandon, FL, Doris Lake of Canton, OH, and Betty Wilson of Stonewood, WV.

In addition to his parents, Montie was preceded in death by nine siblings: Hartzel Jordan, Juanita Lake, Helen Dockery, Margie Jordan, Ellsworth Jordan, Glenn Jordan, Donnie Jordan, Daisy Jordan, and Wanda Carkin; and one son-in-law, Keith Cogar.

Montie was a Christian and worked as a television cable lineman for many years in Webster County.  He also enjoyed woodworking and helping others do any job that needed done.  If Montie could not fix it, it was probably not worth fixing.  Friends and family members alike knew they could always count on Montie to help them any time of day or night.  When he wasn’t working, Montie enjoyed spending time at auctions and flea markets, haggling over cars, and gathering with friends and family.  He loved picnics and was always eager to make his “garbage can stew”.
