Lonnie Asbury Green Jr., 87, of Cowen, formerly of Diana, passed away peacefully Friday, May 15, 2020 at his residence. He was born September 13, 1932 in Bergoo, a son of the late Lonnie Asbury Sr. and Bertha Jane Cogar Green.

Jr was a retired truck driver having been on the open road for over 56 years. He drove for General Delivery Trucking, W.S. Thomas Transfer Company, Peaker Run Coal Company and retired as owner operator of Green Trucking. He was a fan of all sports. He played for and coached the Hacker Valley Men’s Baseball team and the Peaker Run Softball Team. He enjoyed coaching his son’s Little League Baseball teams. He never missed the opportunity to watch his grandchildren play sports from little league thru their high school years. Jr was a former square dance caller where he met the love of his life Patricia Cool many years ago. He loved motocross and traveling and enjoyed going to the Webster County Reunion every year in Ohio. He enjoyed coming to the funeral home for coffee and socializing each morning. He will be sadly missed by many friends and neighbors.

Surviving are his sons, Lonnie “Jingles” (Diana) Green of Diana, Terry (Cheryl) Green of Cowen, grandchildren, J.R. Green of Diana, Amanda Clark of Diana, Brandon (Shelby) Green of Wheeling and Drew Green of Cowen, great-grandchildren, Tessa, Chasidy, Parker and Renee and many cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, loving wife of 67 years Patricia Cool Green, siblings, Heral Green, Junie Goff,  Ethel Moss, Virgil Green, Doy Green, Gathel Byrne, Dana Green, Geneva Friend, granddaughter Angie Skidmore, grandson in law, Freddie Clark and great grandson Owen Clark preceded him in death.
