Joan Elaine Mick, 74, of Cowen, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 23, 1948 in Richwood, a daughter of the late Harley P. Grose and Rose Fleming Sparks.

Elaine was a homemaker and a Baptist by Faith. She enjoyed feeding and watching the wildlife in her yard, canning, weed eating and taking care of things around the house.

Surviving are her children, Jeffery Wade Mick (Sherry) of Cowen, Jennifer (Ted) Mack of North Carolina, Myrtle “Annie” Mick of Cowen and Jeanette (Brian) Jeffries of Cowen, sisters, Sue O’Keefe, Janet Dean and Bonnie Mick, grandchildren, Abbi (Luke) Grooms, Miles (Brittany) Mack, Grace Mack, great-grandchildren, Carter Grooms, Declan Grooms, Solomon Grooms, Kolton Mack, Ana Mack and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, husband, George Wade Mick and brothers, Brent Grose and Jerry Prater preceded her in death.

Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Summersville, with Pastor Craig Williams officiating.
