Dempsey Dale Trenter, 75, of Upper Glade, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins, West Virginia, after a short illness. He was born December 17, 1945, in Bolair, a son of the late Rufus and Iva Payne Trenter.

Dempsey was a former coal miner having worked over 20 years at Peaker Run and Spring Ridge Coal Companies. He was a Christian by Faith. Dempsey enjoyed watching westerns and wrestling, walking and having a social drink with friends and spoiling his grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Rebecca (Bobby) Townsend of Pennsylvania, Tonia Williams, Deion Trenter, Justin Trenter and Christopher Trenter all of Cowen, sisters, Daisy Mae Alt, Tresta Colburn, Elizabeth Trenter and Esta McElwain both of Bolair, grandchildren, Jonathan, Jasmine, Jimmy, Elaina, Aryah, Drake, William and Yasmine, great-grandchildren, Emma, Kamryn, Lillie, Teagan and many other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, brothers, Albert Trenter, John Henry Trenter, Bernard Trenter, sisters, Glenda Knight, and half- brothers, Oliver Mullins and Freddy Brooks preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, July 16, 2021 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Craig Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen. Friends may gather from 12:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
