Viewing will be held Saturday October 29, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Morris Funeral Home in Cowen.
A funeral service will follow Saturday October 29, 2022 at 12:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Cunningham officiating. Interment will be at the Mountain Marketplace Mission.

Lily Larue (Shindledecker) Melton, 88, formally of Webster Springs, WV went to be with her Savior on Monday, October 24, 2022.
Lily was born in Reynoldsville, PA in 1934 to George and Hallie Shindledecker. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Melton, her parents, George and Hallie Shindledecker, four sisters, Nellie Yanulittis, Theda Shindledecker, Alice Shindledecker and Hallie Shindledecker; three brothers, Ivan, Ben and Tim; and niece Janice and nephew Lenny.
Lily is survived by three step-sons, Gary E. Melton, Steven R. Melton and Shon K. Melton and many nieces and nephews who loved her. Surviving nieces are Rosetta, Regina, Rebecca, Lou Ann and Debbie. Nephews include Eric, Mike, Joe, Scott and Todd. Great nieces include Nellie, Rosie, Julie, Heidi, Sheila, Jennifer, Melissa and Sarah. Great nephews include Chris, Jeremy, Jay, Jamey, Joe, Ben and Matthew and sister in law Mary Lou Shindledecker.
Lily always had time to spend with her relatives. She especially enjoyed spending holidays with family.
Lily served in many positions in the Reynoldsville Methodist Church before spending some years working at World Evangelism Crusade in Philadelphia.
Lily and her husband Gary Melton served churches in Oklahoma before moving to Webster Springs, WV where they started the Mountain Marketplace Mission. They served as directors for many years. Both Gary and Lily had a passion for helping anyone who was in need.
Lily was an artist. She painted many pictures which continue to be cherished by family members. Graphic arts was another of Lily’s many artistic skills. She illustrated the book, “Tales of Persia” written by William McElwee Miller.
