Joseph Adrian Hanna, 80, of Camden on Gauley passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 11, 2023 at Summersville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 15, 1943 in Richwood, a son of the late Jack and Esther Lanham Hanna.

Joe was a 1961 graduate of Richwood High School and went on to graduate from Glenville State College and Marshall University. He then started a 25 year teaching career for Webster County and Nicholas County Schools. Joe was an avid outdoorsmen. He loved hunting, trapping and fishing. He especially enjoyed traveling to Alaska salmon fishing. Joe was a member of the West Virginia Trappers Association.

Surviving is his loving wife, Sharon Hanna; brothers, Pat Hanna of Gauley Bridge and Mike Hanna of Cleveland, Ohio and many other friends, co-workers, and his hunting and fishing buddies over the years.

In addition to his parents sister, Carolyn Smith preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00am until time of service. Burial will follow at the Black’s Chapel Cemetery, Stroud’s Creek Road near Camden on Gauley.
