Gary Stephen (Steve) Cooper, 68, of Upper Glade entered into rest at Charleston General Hospital on November 5, 2023 after a brief illness.

Steve was the third son of Philip and Barbara Burns Cooper.

He married Mille (Cole) Cooper on March 18, 1977. They have two children. A son, Gary (Nikki) Stephen II and daughter, Amber Nicole.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 ½ years, his son and daughter and three grandsons, Steve III, James, and Jack also granddaughter, Trinity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Keith Cooper, and infant grandson, Skyler.

Surviving are brothers, Mike (KeKe) Cooper and Randy (Debbie) Cooper; and sister, Karen Cooper and several nephews and nieces.

He was employed at Flatwoods Canoe Run PSD as chief operator of the waste water treatment plant until he retired.

Steve loved hunting with his son and Millie and loved gardening, lawn care, and home repairs. He loved his family and was always ready to help.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Rev. Marty Cowger officiating. Burial will follow at the McAvoy Cemetery on Pleasant Ridge.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
