Anna Blankenship, 77, 0f Birch River, WV went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. She was born October 20, 1946 in Sutton to the late Hersel and Helen Holbrook.

Ann was a 1964 graduate of Cowen High School. She worked for many years before happily retiring in February 1999. Ann attended church regularly via facebook at Beaver Run Community Church. She enjoyed rug making, canning, reading, quilting and visiting with family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 15 years Dahn Blankenship, sister in law Naomi Holbrook, grandson Joey McAtee and step son Alan Blankenship.

Ann is survived by her doggy companion, Sam. Sons, Kevin Bailey of Mocksville, NC and Hershel McAtee of Ravenna OH. Brother, Lonnie (Jessica) Holbrook of Shalersville, OH and sister, Charlotte (Fred) Bennett of Cowen WV. Daughter in law Jennifer Bailey. Grandchildren Brittany Bailey and Nathan McAtee as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Children by Marriage, Dahn Blankenship Jr., James Blankenship, Donna Dietrich, Rose Cochran and Anette. Grandchildren by marriage, Victoria Paige Scott, Trey Blankenship along with others. “Adopted” children Tom and Jody Kinslow, special neighbors Randy and Joy Demoss and best friend Debbie Taylor.

Services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00pm at Morris Funeral Home in Cowen, WV with Pastor Doug Martin Sr. and Duane Peyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Birch River Cemetery, Birch River, WV. Friends may join family from 11:00am until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
