Service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Jim Varney officiating. Burial with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post # 62 will follow at the Alex Williams Cemetery, Cranberry Ridge. Friends may call from 1:00pm until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.

Ray Hilbert Morrison, 92 of Craigsville, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his residence. He was born September 28, 1926 at Gauley Mills, a son of the late Fred L. Morrison and Ella Victoria Morris Morrison Carpenter.

Ray was a retired, hardworking coal miner of over 40 years and the last several years he spent as a Federal Mine Inspector. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II having served in the Asiatic – Pacific Theater. Ray enjoyed antiquing and working the antiques at the fair, yard work, writing stories about the past and spending time with grandchildren and family.

Surviving are his children, Martha Posey of Craigsville, James Warren Morrison of Moundsville, Linda Sue Kersten of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Lynn Ray Morrison of Kem Bridge, Virginia, Julie Ann Morrison of Rocky Point, Oregon and Joan Lee Hooker of Moundsville, grandchildren Dewayne, Tisha, Audra, Angie, Jessie, Tony, Kerri, Jonathon, Nikki and Ashley Rae, great-grandchildren, Dalton, Tyler, Makala, Macy, Colton and Josie, great-great grandchildren, James, Morgan, Bubba, Patricia, Owen, Carson and McKenzie, great-great-great grandson Leland Morrison and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents his loving wife of over 69 years Agnes Morrison, son Roger Lee Morrison, sisters Mildred Duckworth, Ruby Green, Francis Stone, Lucille Wyatt and Helen Plummer, brothers, Roy Morrison and Ted Morrison preceded him in death.
