Service will be 11:00am. Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Chaplain Jim Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin.

Friends may join the family from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Monday, May 29, 2017 at the funeral home.

Mary Rose Bennett, 90, of Williams River Rd., Cowen passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born November 4, 1926 in Dyer a daughter of the late Augustino and Minnie Holbrook Teta.

Mary was a 1945 graduate of Cowen High School and went on to graduate from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was a former school teacher at the Mills Mountain School and retired as a mail carrier with over 38 years of dedicated service. She was a Christian and a member of the Dyer United Methodist Church. Mary enjoyed embroidering, gardening, picnics, walking, picking berries and working with her flowers.

Surviving are her children, Paul (June) Bennett of Williams River, Dorothy (Phillip) Lough of Williams River, Robert (Patricia) Bennett of Newark, Ohio, grandchildren, Christina, Annie, Michael, Mary, Robert, Jeannie, Shaun, Tasha, Joshua, Charles, Crystal, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parent’s husband, Paul Bennett, son, Charles Bennett, brother, Tony Teta and grandson, Howie Bennett preceded her in death.
