Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Morris Funeral Home with Paster Marty Cowger officiating.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 until the time-of-service Saturday at the funeral home.

Hermanetta Kay Brown, 59, of Camden on Gauley, WV passed away quietly in her sleep January 19, 2023.  She was the wife of the late Harold Brown.  She was the daughter of the late Herman and Betty Hurst, born April 25, 1963.  She was the mother of seven children:  Kelly (Eddie) Williams, Marlene (Richard) Porter, Harold Brown, Jr., Robert (Laura) Brown, Ricky (Connie) Brown, Scott (Jenny) Brown, and Eddie (Tiffany) Clark, Jr.  She was the grandma, mimi, or granny of fifteen grandchildren:  Amber (Eric) Fisher, Lilly (Quinten) Durham, Mallory Kelly, Brandon (Chelsie) Williams, Aaron Porter, Tray (Danielle) Brown, Sydney (Ian) Crickenberger, Kenna Brown, Raegan Brown, Maddox Brown, Alias Brown, Bristol Brown, Eddie Clark III, Gibson Clark, and Marshall Clark.  She was the great grandma of seven:  Sawyer and Easton Durham, Makenzi and Owen Kelly, Addy and Paisley Williams, and Everleigh Brown.  One of thirteen siblings she is survived by Genelda (Woody) Hickman, Irene (Chuck) Cooper, Frances Hurst, Dorothy Hurst, Joe (Rose) Hurst, Bill (Libby) Hurst, Herman (Deloris) Hurst, Jr., Mary Jean Hurst, Lisa Hurst, and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by Frank Hurst, James Hurst, and Faye Cox.

Hermanetta loved being outdoors fishing, camping, gardening, swimming, and walking.  She loved her family, and it gave her great joy to be with her grandchildren; especially, watching them play sports.  Hermanetta was known for speaking her mind.  Not a day went by, that she went without her black coffee and her USA Gold’s.  She had a fiery spirit we will miss forever.  Towards the end, she woke up thanking the Lord for the beautiful day she was blessed with.
