Donald Wayne Gregory, 89, of Craigsville, passed away November 24, 2017 at Summersville Regional Medical Center. Don was born July 13, 1928 in Cowen, WV, the son of the late Everard and Lela Wayne Gregory.

Don retired from the State of WV with over 20 years of service in many aspects of law enforcement. He was a Veteran from the US Marine Corp. He was a member of Alderson Missionary Baptist Church, the VFW, the Marine Corp League, and the Retired State Trooper Association. He loved his horses, hunting, fishing, mountain climbing and being in the outdoors. He enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

Don is survived by his children: Greg (Debbie) Gregory, Mike Gregory, Steve (Gayle) Gregory, Buz Gregory, and Kim (Rick) Childers. Grandchildren: Shawn Peters, Mikie Peters, Matt Gregory, Chris Gregory, Katie Kuhn, Amy Renegar, Elliott Gregory, Sam Childers, and Paul Childers, and 23 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Gregory and grandson David Childers.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:00am at Alderson Missionary Baptist Church with Rev Rick Childers officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen. Friends may join the family on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 6:00 -8:00pm at the church in celebration of Don’s life.
