Dear Millie, I was both shocked and saddened to hear the news of Steve's passing. We worked many years together at Craigsville P.S.D. I considered Steve as a friend more than a co-worker. He was always very cordial to me after his move to Flatwoods, he invited me over many times to visit him there. I must say that he made a great career choice in moving there, the plant and work environment were far superior to what he had at Craigsville. May the Lord give you strength and peace during this time of loss, Love & prayers Mike & Faye

I had the great pleasure of working with Steve for 15 years at Flatwoods-Canoe Run Public Service District. I have never met a more professional man at his trade. Steve was highly respected by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection as one of the top wastewater operators in the state. His competence assured me each day that as long as he was on the job, there was nothing to worry about. His position was not only critical to The District but he oversaw the entire process of building a wastewater system and running it smoothly during a time of transition, start up and operations. I will never forget Steve Cooper because I also called him my friend. His dedication was unmatched by any other individual I have had the pleasure to know. His passing, a huge shock, but none the less, a blessing to having known this man and the space he occupied on this earth. He will always live in my heart.

The memories of the miles we spent running together over the years are too many to list. I will say to me Steve was a kind soul with a quite toughness that not many have and determined character. I will cherish all those runs, talks and friendship we developed during those years. My heart goes out to his loved ones and if there was any way I could take your hurt away know that I would. God bless you, and Steve save me a place at the starting line up there so someday we can enjoy those running days again forever. Sam
