Helen Carpenter

Helen Carpenter, 93 of Smithville Ohio, formerly of Erbacon WV, passed away peacefully Monday August 5, 2024, at the Apostolic Christian Home, Rittman Ohio. She was born October 21, 1930, in Erbacon, a daughter of the late William Oscar and Mirgie Snider Dillon.

Helen was and will be remembered as a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-great Grandmother. She enjoyed working in her yard and loved sitting on her porch visiting with family, friends and neighbors. In addition to raising her family, she was employed and retired after 20 years from the Wayne County Career Center as a custodian.

Surviving are her children, John (Dee) Carpenter, Kathy (Ted) Shrout, Kimberly Porter, Pat (Bob) Conley. Grandchildren Jeremy Carpenter, Jason Carpenter Jenna (Tim) Densmore, Adrean (Les) McGuire, Aron (Jenni) Shrout, James (Tiffany) Porter, Micheal (Sebrina) Porter, Joseph (Jennifer) Conley, Jett Conley, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, her husband James Carpenter, brother, Clayton Dillon, Lee Roy Dillion and sister Ada Sigman preceded her in death.

Graveside service with Pastor Linda Dyer will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday August 10, 2024 at the Carpenter Cemetery, Erbacon.
