Ashley Lynn Cogar

Ashley Lynn Cogar, 33, of Erbacon, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Charleston Area Medical Center after injuries she obtained in a mining accident. She was born on December 31, 1990, in Summersville, a daughter of Earl and Patricia Cogar.

Ashley was a 2010 graduate of Webster County High School. She was a rock truck driver at Wyco surface mine and formerly worked at Brooks Run Coal Company. Ashley enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, drawing, vacationing, and spending time with her children. She had a kind heart and always enjoyed helping others.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her three children, Vivian Cogar, Dessel Cogar and Bo Carpenter all at home; brothers, James Holcomb, Jason Cogar (Brittany Long), David Cogar (Christy Hamrick), and Bobby Cogar (Taunya Massie); and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Ernie Watkins officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00pm until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Erbacon.
