Ray Lionel Shaffer

Gone hunting in the hills and fishing in the rivers and the streams with his beloved wife Gloria. Ray Lionel Shaffer, 60, of Hacker Valley went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 13, 2023. Born the son of the late William “Keith” and Mildred Louise Jett Shaffer on July 9, 1962 in Kanawha County.

Ray is also preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria Lee Leach Shaffer, twin brother Raymond Lee Shaffer, brother Hank Shaffer, sisters, Janie P. Shaffer Brown, Bonnie George and niece Kayla Ann Shaffer.

He is survived by his daughter Monica Dehainaut (Jason) of Hacker Valley, WV, son, Raymond Shaffer of Buckhannon, WV, sisters, Helen Estep, Ann Welch, Norma Snead, Loretta Brown, Nora Myers, and little brother Houston Shaffer. Grandsons, Jason Dehainaut and Mason Dehainaut both at home, 5 bonus grandchildren and 6 bonus great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

In honoring Ray’s wishes he is being cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Morris Funeral Home to help with expenses.
