Burial Date: August 6, 2016 Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 6, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Webster County High School Gymnasium. Service will be Sunday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Webster County High School Gymnasium with Sergeant Dwayne McClung officiating. Burial will follow at Handschumacher Cemetery, Upperglade, West Virginia. Then please join family and friends for a covered dish gathering to celebrate Jeremy’s life at the American Legion Hall in Cowen, West Virginia. Specialist Jeremy Richard Boggs, “JJ,” 21, born May 29, 1995 in Medina, N.Y. to Francis L. “Frank” Boggs and Tara Leah Chapman-Boggs. Jeremy unexpectedly passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Oak Grove, Ky. Jeremy was a Soldier stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., where he was a Specialist in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Battalion 327th Infantry. He was a member of the ABOVE THE REST FIST team. He did a tour in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He was also a Forward Observer (Fire Support Specialist). He was a graduate of Webster County High School (WCHS) Class of 2013, where he graduated with high honors (including Senior Prom King). Jeremy’s JROTC teacher at WCHS was Sergeant Dwayne McClung (wife, Julie, and daughter, Shannon), who was not only a teacher but became a father figure and trusted friend. Jeremy enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family, especially his brothers, Dustin and Mark, and many, many friends, including his beloved German Shepherd, Nado. Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, Francis L. “Frank” Boggs, and his maternal grandfather and namesake, Richard Arnold Chapman. Jeremy is survived by his mother, Tara Leah Chapman-Boggs; brothers, Mark Chapman, Dustin (Cara) Boggs, Frankie Boggs and Eddie Boggs; one sister, Virginia (Bruce) Boggs-Ribble; maternal grandmother, Sandie Chapman; uncles, Todd (Kathy) Chapman and Tim Chapman; aunts, Marie Chapman-Croll and Kileen (Todd) Smith; as well as many, many, friends and “BROTHERS IN ARMS.” Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 6, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Webster County High School Gymnasium.
