Opal Ruie Hollandsworth, 101, of Birch River passed away peacefully into the hands of Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2017 at the Webster Continuous Care Center, Cowen. She was born November 21, 1915 in Braxton County a daughter of the late Harvey Dexter “Dek” and Vertie Rose Rose. She was a homemaker, taking care of the farm, cooking and canning. She loved to work with her flowers. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Harold (Rose) Hollandsworth, Birch River Road, Roger (Sharon) Hollandsworth, Birch River Road and daughter Sue (Denzil) Wright of Craigsville; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. In addition to her parents, brothers Macel, Mitchell, Eugene, and Edgar and sisters, Dorothy Hoover and Edna Hughes and great-granddaughter Amber Hollandsworth preceded her in death.
