Burial Date: March 23, 2019 Jake’s request for cremation has been honored and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Cowen with Rev. James “Oz” Gray officiating. Inurnment, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #62 will follow at the Handschumacher Cemetery, Upper Glade. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 am until time of service Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saving Webster Dogs P.O. Jacob Alfred “Jake” Bragg, 80, of Cowen passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Charleston Area Medical Center, after a short illness. He was born November 21, 1938 in Gassaway, a son of the late Herbert and Mary Rumbach Bragg. Jake was a graduate of Cowen High School and Veteran of the US Army. He retired from the railroad, with over 30 years of service. He worked for the B&O, C&O, Western Maryland, Chessie System and CSX Transportation. He was a brakeman for most of his career. Jake faithfully attended Trinity United Methodist Church and was President of the Hilltop Coffee Club. He was an avid reader and history buff and enjoyed squirrel hunting and going to Tudors. Jake never meet a stranger. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. Surviving is his loving wife, Nancy Bragg, daughters Sara Bragg of St. Albans, Susan Kuhn of Cross Lanes, brother, Chuck (Gladys) Bragg of Cowen, granddaughter, Emma Kuhn of Cross Lanes, sister in law, Susan (Dwight) Given of Milton, brother in law, Dave (Linda) Williams of Tesla, sister in law, Leslie Williams of Upper Glade and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, brothers Steve Bragg, Tom Bragg, AB Bragg and brother in law Gary Williams preceded him in death.
