Youvone "Bonnie" Hilton, a cherished member of her community and beloved family matriarch, passed away on March 15, 2026. Born on March 1, 1948, in Gauley Mills, she carried a vibrant spirit and a deep love for those around her throughout her life.
A proud 1966 graduate of Richwood High School, Bonnie furthered her dedication to care and service by obtaining her CNA/LPN license through Rock Valley College. She devoted her professional life to the well-being of others, notably serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Ann's Catholic Parish in Illinois and contributing 18 years as a skilled machine operator at Metalcrafters in Rockford Illinois. Her commitment extended beyond her career, enriched by her membership in the Ladies Red Hat Auxiliary and her role as a Red Cross blood donor, testaments to her generous and caring nature.
Bonnie's personality was as effervescent as her nickname suggested—she loved being known as Aunt Bonnie, a beacon of warmth and lively conversation who always had a story to share. Full of life and with a penchant for standing out in crowds, she touched the hearts of many. Her hobbies reflected her love of nature and nurturing: bird watching, cooking, canning, and attending church, including her former involvement with St. Luke's Methodist Church.
Her family remembers her as a magnificent grandmother and a devoted survivor who triumphed over Non-Hodkins Lymphoma and was battling breast cancer with courage and resilience. She was deeply loved by her children Dawn Marie Gore of Craigsville, Steven Dewayne Hardin of Rockford, IL, and Charles James "CJ" Hilton of Summersville; her siblings Virginia Smith of Camden on Gauley, Henry (Anna) Adkins, Jr. of Craigsville, John E. Adkins of Camden on Gauley, and Diana Coffman of Craigsville; and her grandchildren Tara (Russel) Baltis, Troy (Kelsey) Snyder, Trisha Yvonne Snyder, Kassy(Coley) Bouslog, Matthew (Taylor) Hardin, Nicholas (Ayelet) Hardin, Kreedence James Hilton, and Olivia Grayce Hilton. She was also a loving presence to nine great-grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bonnie Hilton is preceded in death by her father Henry Ford Adkins, mother Nancy Ann Stewart, and her son Jeff Warren Hardin. Her legacy of love, strength, and compassion leaves an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a guiding light and magnificent grandmother whose spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family extends their gratitude to Dr. Baughman, Dr. Rodebaugh, and the nursing staff at Summersville Hospital, as well as the dedicated doctors and nurses at UHC for their compassionate care during Bonnie’s final days.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on March 21, 2026, at Morris Funeral Home, located at 160 Railroad Avenue, PO Box 267, Cowen, WV 26206. The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Bonnie's wishes for cremation will then be honored.
