Wanda “Betty” Wamsley

Wanda “Betty” Wamsley, 98, of Williams River, passed away at her home, May 22, 2022. She was born March 2, 1924 in Belpre, Ohio the daughter of the late James Sylvester and Martha Eva Griffith Sibert.

Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers and cooking, especially pies and cakes. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Warren Wamsley of Williams River, WV, Nova and Dave Bender of Diana, WV, and Freda and Kenny Hollandsworth of Cowen, WV. Grandchildren, David, Michael, Scott, Kerry, Kurt, Joe, Randy, Christy, Tim, Dwayne, Kathryn and Karen. Greatgrandchildren, Brandon, Brent, Michael, Troy, Josh, Kara, Devin, Carleigh, Katrina, Katelyn, Kimberly, Craig, Kylie, Trace, Eliza, Deacon, Alexis, Aiden, Autumn, Katie, Kendall, Micah, Kenzley and one on the way. Great greatgrandchildren, Kade, Conner, Tucker, Finley, Jordan, and one on the way. Sister, Ella Jane Little of Saint Marys, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Wamsley, daughter Mary McLaughlin, grandson JJ, and great granddaughter Tabitha. Siblings Lawrence, Madelyn, Bernard, Margaret and Mary Lou.

Services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, WV, with Pastor Eddie Bender officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Family Cemetery, Dyer, WV.  A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
