Victor Ace McClure, 62, of Upper Glade, passed away Friday, June 19, 2026, at his home. Victor was born on March 11, 1964 in Webster Springs, to Acie and Helma McClure, both deceased. In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Larry Wayne and his niece, Cwayna Wayne.

Victor is survived by his daughter Chelsea Vanpelt and his two grandchildren, Rosalind and Jocelyn Fourqurean of Morgantown, WV. Also surviving is his sister, Linda Wayne, and her son, Eric Henline, both of Cowen; his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Fran McClure and their children Janaea (McClure) and Mike Croyle, Coleton and Allison McClure and Jarod McClure, all of Fairmont, West Virginia; nieces Bella and Mia Croyle, and Bailey and Parker McClure, all of Fairmont, West Virginia; nephew, Jacob Croyle of Monterey, California, and many other friends made over the years.

Victor graduated from Webster County High School in 1982 and completed a bachelor's degree in business from Marshall University and an MBA from West Virginia Wesleyan. He worked for FEMA in California for a short time after graduating from college and then returned home to start his own business in Cowen, the gas station and convenience store which is now the Go-Mart. Victor also served four years as County Commissioner. He was instrumental in getting the industrial Park established and helped Webster County in many other ways during his tenure. in later years, he was a substitute teacher. Victor enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially deer and turkey hunting.

Services will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen. Burial will follow at the McAvoy Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00pm until the time-of-service Tuesday at the funeral home.
