Shirley Gene Williams, 70, of Camden on Gauley, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his residence. He was born February 8, 1947, in Coe, WV, a son of the late Glen and Lillie Russell Williams.

Shirley was a retired UMWA Coalminer, having worked for Island Creek Coal Company for over 29 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and working with horses. He also enjoyed growing a garden.

He is survived by his children, Jimmy Williams of Cowen, Theresa (John) Feagans of Craigsville, Jeffery (Rebecca) Williams of Camden on Gauley, Franklin (Amber) Williams of Webster Springs and Jennifer (Quentin) Truman of Canvas; brothers, Ercel Williams, William E. Williams, Larry Williams, and Jerry Williams; sisters, Waveline Ramsey and Opal Crislip; grandchildren, Allison, Amber, Tony, Lilly, Courtney, Reese, Addison, Adrien, Madelyn, and Ava; great grandchildren, Gracie, Braden, Olivia, Emilie, Paislie, Landen, Sawyer, and Elia.

In addition to his parents, wife Ruby L. Jarvis Williams, brothers Dana Lee Williams, Lawrence Williams and Marlin Williams, sister Marie Cox preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Alex Williams Cemetery, Cranberry Ridge with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.morrisfuneralhomecowenwv.com.
