Sherry Ruth Bowman

Sherry Ruth Bowman, 63, of Cowen passed away on July 26, 2025, at home. She was born on December 20, 1961, in Summersville, WV, the daughter of the late Dorthy Woods Hall.

Sherry was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother, Sherry was preceded in death by her brother, James Mathes, Jr and sister Phyllis Hoke.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jeffery Bowman of Cowen; son, Joshua (Atasha) Bowman of Flatwoods; brothers, Rex (Cindy) Wright and Joe Wright and brother in law, Merideth Hoke all of Cowen; granddaughter, Abigail Raylinn Bowman; nieces and nephews, Kia (Dalton) Davis, Reese Davis, Rosie Wright, Joseph Wright, Michael (Ashton) Ellison, Brittany Jones, Travis (Rachel) Hoke, Kayla (John) Feagans, Dakota Hoke, Ryan Hoke, and many more nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 4:00pm at Morris Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Lovely officiating. Sherry’s wishes for cremation have been honored. A gathering of family and friends will be held form 3:00pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
