Sandra Lee Carpenter, 71, of Webster Springs, was born on February 12, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, West Virginia, with her family by her side. She was a source of light and laughter for all who knew her and will be profoundly missed.
Sandra dedicated 17 years of her professional life as the office manager at Seneca Health Services, showcasing her commitment and work ethic. She received her GED, which reflected her determination to achieve her goals. Sandra was known for her playful personality, always delighting those around her by playing tricks on people, a testament to her vibrant spirit.
Her hobbies included a passion for browsing Facebook reels, engaging in online video games, enjoying camping trips, and collecting wind chimes. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she cherished every moment spent with them, particularly enjoying the beautiful melodies sung by her granddaughter Gabby.
Sandra is survived by her devoted spouse, Jim Carpenter, and her stepchildren, Jerry Carpenter (Ashley), Jimmy Carpenter (Barbie), and Cindy Carpenter. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Sage Bush (Austin), brothers Donald Fay, Bruce Richardson, and Bill Richardson, along with her beloved grandchildren, Aaron Steiding, Gabby Cogar, Ciera Hamrick, Ashley Hamrick, Sabrina Hamrick, Grace Carpenter, Christian Carpenter, Leafy Carpenter, AJ Carpenter, Destiny McIe, Rodney Carpenter, Daisy Carpenter, James Carpenter, and Joseph LeBlanc. The joy she found in being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother constituted some of her proudest accomplishments, and she created countless memories with her grandchildren and husband.
She was preceded in death by her son Stoney Cogar, daughter Krystal Cogar, first husband Deward Cogar, and her parents, Don Richardson and Catherine Farina Richardson.
A graveside service to honor Sandra will be held on December 3, 2025, at Point Mountain Church Cemetery in Webster Springs, West Virginia, beginning at 2:00 PM. We invite friends and family to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who filled her days with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family.
