Ronald Duff

Ronald Duff, 80, of Cowen, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Webster County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on January 10, 1944, in Brutus, KY, a son to the late Crit Duff and Esther Hoskins Duff.

Ron was a Jet Engineer Mechanic and an Airplane Mechanic for the United States Marine Corp. While in the service, he received a Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and a National Defense Service Medal.

He worked for IBM for over thirty-six years as a repair technician. Ron was a previous member of the Cowen Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid supporter of the Cowen Raiders where he previously spent much time volunteering.

Surviving is his loving wife, Kay Gray Duff; children, Ronnie (Jessica) Duff of Craigsville and Melinda (Terry) Wayne of Cowen; grandchildren, Evan and Hannah Wayne and Mason and Carrie; brother in law, Keith (Dottie) Gray; sister in laws, Sandy Greene and Patsy (Brent) Biddle, niece and nephew, Brian and Mike Gray, Shawn and Ryan Greene and special niece and nephew, Lonnie and Machaella Duff.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Duff.

Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Nancy Newhouse officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 pm until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Givens Cemetery at Upper Glade.
