Robert Lee “Bob” Champ, 86, of Cranberry Ridge, passed away June 9, 2019 at Summersville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 14, 1932, on Cranberry Ridge, a son of the late Albert and Nanny Williams Champ.
Bob was a retired truck driver with over 55 years of service, having last worked for Ritchie Trucking. Bob was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working on lawn mowers, working in his yard and garage, fishing, hunting, camping and taking scenic drives. He also enjoyed watching old western movies.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Sylvia Champ; son, Donald (Sandra) Champ of Sumter, SC; granddaughter, Tabitha Nichols of Sumter, SC; Brothers, Ralph Champ and Jim Champ of Oregon, Albert “Jr” Champ of Cottle, WV, and sister Lavada Mullens of Cottle, WV and many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, sister Agnes Morrison and brothers Dave Champ and George Champ preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Jim Varney officiating. Burial will follow at the Alex Williams Cemetery, Cranberry Ridge. Friends may call from 11:00am until time of service, Thursday at the Funeral Home.
