Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home in Cowen with Pastor Doug Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Handschumacher Cemetery in Upper Glade. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Ramona Carole Mathews went home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2024. She was born on November 2, 1939, in Montgomery to the late Ethel Gaye Young. She worked as a Lab Tech at Webster County Memorial Hospital, Richwood Sacred Heart, and Summersville Memorial. Before retiring, she worked for Minnich Florist/Cowen Florist. Her talents were expressed and enjoyed by many arrangements in honor of Memorial Day.
Carole, as she was known by many, enjoyed singing in church. She was a member of Beaver Run Community Church. Carole was incredibly talented and expressed it with her creative paintings and her decorative cakes for weddings and birthdays. Her cooking skills were well known throughout her family, community, and church. Carole enjoyed crocheting, working on puzzle books, reading, and fishing. She was a skilled bowler; having bowled in several tournaments over the years.
In addition to her mother, Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Mathews, daughter, Tracy Ann and stepfather Jim Boardman.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Doug (Jennifer) Mathews and Brenda (Dave) Morris; sisters, Heather Hancock, Jane Stanley, Mary Hiser and Holly Young; grandchildren, Eric (Teresa) Bragg and Nicole (Rich) Roberts, Robert Owens and Joshua Owens; great grandchildren, Dale, Danny, Jake, Maverick, Alexa, Savannah, Jamison, and Alivia.
