Phyllis Jean Roberts Gerwig

Phyllis Jean Roberts Gerwig, 90, of Greencastle, Indiana, formerly of Gassaway, WV passed away November 25, 2017 at the Waters of Greencastle, after an extended illness. Phyllis was born February 25, 1927 in Richwood, WV a daughter of the late Fred and Irene Ruckman Roberts.

She was a graduate of Cowen High School, a member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Eastern Star. Phyllis was an avid reader and enjoyed volunteering in her community.

She is survived by her children Hazel (Dean) Ball of Laydon, Utah, Floyd (Cathy) Gerwig of Plano, Texas, and Mary (Steve) Busenbark of Coatsville, Indiana; sisters Ruth (Andy) Sawchuk of Dickenson, South Dakota and Karen (Tommy) Morris of Cowen, WV; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Gerwig, sisters Alma June Ayers and Joann Roberts and grandson Kyle Gerwig.

Service will be at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church on November 30, 2017 at 1:00pm with Rev. Barbara Accord officiating. Friends may call from 12:00pm until time of service at the church. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.morrisfuneralhomecowenwv.com
