Phyllis Lavaughn Cole

Phyllis Lavaughn Cole, 81 of Cowen passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the Clay Health Care Center. She was born July 30, 1937 in Webster County a daughter of the late Clayton and Thelma Perkins Hedger.

Lavaughn was a homemaker and a graduate of Cowen High School. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and working in her yard.

Surviving are her children, James Cole of Cowen, Jean (Mike) Feeney of Virginia and step-daughter Millie (Steve) Cooper of Cowen, sister, Arlene (Jerry) Workman of Virginia ,step- grandchildren, Steve II (Nikki) Cooper and Amber (Jeremy) Reed, and step- great-grandsons, Steve III and James and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Cole and brother Leon Hedger.

Service will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin with Minister David Smith officiating. Friends may call from 10:00am until time of service at the cemetery.
