Pauline Elizabeth Bailey

Pauline Elizabeth Bailey, 85, of Upper Glade, WV passed away October 19, 2016 at Webster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cowen, due to Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease. The daughter of the late Cecil and Nell Brown Cobb, she was born, March 31, 1931 in Wainville, WV.

Pauline was a former Nurse’s Aide at Webster County Memorial Hospital and Webster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was Presbyterian by faith and a member of the Upper Glade Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She also served as a Deacon in the Church. She worked as a store clerk at Abruzzino’s Grocery and she also worked at the Cowen Movie Theater. Pauline was a leader in Webster County 4H. She enjoyed cooking, housekeeping, working with her flowers and was a caregiver to many in the Upper Glade Community.
Pauline was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and aunt who taught her family the love for the Lord.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane (George) Bennett, Judy (Collis) Bickford, Sue Roberts, Nancy (Buck) Mathews, Joyce (Leon) Hosey, Joann (Charles) Dickens; Sister Cecile (Don) Miller; Grandchildren: Jody (Jeff) Johnson, Brian (Misty) Cogar, Ashley Whinnington, April Bostic, Joshua (Jennifer) Mathews, Tinie (DJ) Whiting, Tanya Hosey and fiancé Ryan, Jessica (Cody) Evans; Great-grandchildren: Isaac Johnson, Allie Johnson, Amber Cogar, Alex Cogar, CJ Whinnington, Melodey Whinnington, Brianna Bostic, Jacob Bostic, Samantha Bostic, Cole Balee, Rylee Mathews, Gracee Mathews, Mason Whiting, Brantley Whiting, Baya Evans, Broden Evans, Step-grandchildren: Loretta and Heaven Mathews; Step-great-grandchildren: Chad, Adam, McKenna, and Lexie. Special companion, Ernest Wygel, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Mack Wilson Bailey, brother Jerry Cobb, sister Ailene Gum, grandchildren Bradley and Paula Cogar.

Service will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Upper Glade Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert (Bob) Bondurant. Burial will follow at the Handschumacher Cemetery, Upper Glade. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00PM, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Upper Glade Presbyterian Church.
