Patricia Green

Patricia Green, 86, of Cowen, WV, formerly of Diana, WV, passed away at home on September 8, 2018. She was born May 6, 1932, at the family’s home in Diana, WV, a daughter of the late Rab and Golda Schrader Cool.

Known to most as Granny Green, she loved to cook for and feed the boys before their games at WCHS where she worked as a janitor. She also cooked for the kids at the daycare in Cowen. She was a graduate of Webster Springs High School and received her teaching certificate from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She taught at Diana and Removal Schools for 10 years.

Granny enjoyed fishing, attending reunions, including the Webster County Reunion in Ohio. She attended Glade View Community Church and greatly enjoyed the visits and singing at her home as her health declined. Her love was most apparent when she was with or talking about her grandchildren. She was a strong supporter of all their activities and included their friends as if they were hers.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Lonnie “Poppy” Green and sons Jingles (Diana) Green of Diana and Terry (Cheryl) Green of Cowen; Siblings: Dixon “Bud” Cool of Diana, Peggy (Dick) Cline of Ohio, Carol Hooper of Florida, and Sandra (Scrap) Bruffy of Ohio. Grandchildren: Amanda (Freddie) Clark of Diana, JR Green of Diana, Brandon Green (Shelby Ribel) of Morgantown, Drew Green (Cheyenne Parton) of Fairmont. Greatgrandchildren: Tessa Skidmore, Chasidy Skidmore, Parker Clark and Renee Clark. Also special friends and caretakers Stephanie Flint and Jenny Given.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Bill Cool, granddaughter Angie Skidmore, and great grandson Owen Clark.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 2:00pm at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, WV with Pastor Craig Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Big Run Cemetery, Diana.
