Service will be held at 12:00pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home in Cowen with Brother Larry Armentrout officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Erbacon.

Orval Odis Crites, 85, of Erbacon passed away at his home on Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was born September 8, 1938, in Erbacon, a son of the late Orval Grant Crites and Rushie Belle Jackson Crites.

Odis was a 1959 graduate of Cowen High School. He worked for Quality Casting machine shop in Ohio and many years in the sawmill in WV and was an EMT and volunteer firefighter and charter member for the Erbacon Volunteer Fire Department. Odis enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, auctions, hunting and being the “faithful keeper” of the Sunset Memorial Park.

Surviving is his children, Jeffrey (Angela R) Crites and Mitzi (Jody) Long, both of Erbacon; grandchildren, Misty, Brandon, Brittany, Brianna; great-grandchildren, Danessa, Sandra, Emma, Jesse, Lexi, Elana, Aliyah, Aria and Shyteesha; and great-great grandson Maddix, and one additional on the way.
