Nancy Lee Metz

Nancy Lee Metz, 78, of Camden on Gauley, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Geneva Medical Center after a short illness. She was born September 28, 1943 on Cranberry Ridge, a daughter of the late Lem and Elva Mills Russell.

Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Cowen High School and the former head of the Camden on Gauley Water Department. She was a Christian by Faith. Nancy enjoyed reading, working puzzles, socializing, and traveling. One of Nancy’s favorite things was being a grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with them and watching them grow and prosper in life. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Randy (Lynda) Metz of Parkersburg and Angie (Larry) Hoover of Camden on Gauley, sister, Phyllis Crislip of Geneva, Ohio, grandchildren, Colin Metz, Chloee Berry, Kody Short,  Stephanie Kennedy, Renne Gallogly and Gaelynn Dooley, great-grandchildren, Laura, Charleigh, Luke, Lennox, Denver, Peyton, Sophie, Isaac, Zoey, Ella and Riley.

In addition to her parents, husband, Jerry Metz, granddaughter, Whitney Hoover and great-grandson, Everett Ehabe and siblings Helen Tooley and Elson Addington preceded her in death.

Service will be held at 1:00pm. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Alex Williams Cemetery, Cranberry Ridge. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
