Myrtle Marie Stewart

Myrtle Marie Stewart, 80 of Cowen, passed away Tuesday February 16, 2021 at Webster County Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born December 26, 1940 in Centralia, a daughter of the late James and Vada Perrine Stewart.

Myrtle was a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, yard work, flowers, canning, quilting, sewing, housework, and she was great cook. Myrtle also loved bird watching and feeding and taking care of her animals. Myrtle was always staying busying she was never the type to sit around.

Surviving is her son James Stewart of Webster Springs, brother, Roy and (Shirley) Dillon of Cowen, grand-daughters Cynthia Marie (Chris) Stackhouse of Diana, and Kimberly Marie Stewart of Clarksburg, grandchildren Michael James Hamrick, Braydin Edward Stackhouse, Aubrei Marie Stackhouse, Jacob Michael Persinger, Bianca Daniel Persinger, and Hayden Phillip Persinger.

In addition to her parents, her husband of 48 years David Edward Stewart, sisters, Gathel Deel, Mabel Johnson, Dorothy Ann Dillon, and brother Richard Dillon preceded her in death.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 to 7pm Monday, February 22, 2021 at Morris Funeral Home Cowen. A private burial will take place at a later date.
