Monnie B. Malcomb

Monnie B. Malcomb, 86, of Cowen passed into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Summersville Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 12, 1930 in Mercer County a daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Beale Fowler.

Monnie was a loving mother and homemaker working on the family farm to provide for her children. She worked many years in the Senior Community Service Employment Program, having received many awards and citations from the forest service. Monnie was a long time member of the Love And Life Fellowship Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are her children, William Barrier of Cowen, James (Teresa) Barrier of Dothan, Alabama, Judy (Arthur) Selman of Cowen, Rose (Kevin) Heck of Camden on Gauley, Mary (Curtis) Overbaugh of Richwood, Homer (Stacey) Malcomb of Cowen, Wanda Wegman of Richwood, brother, Arden Fowler of Catawba, Virginia, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, husband, Robert Malcomb, son, David Barrier, sister, Opal Ryder, brothers, Joe Fowler, Leland Fowler and granddaughter, Jennifer Selman preceded her in death.

Services were held 2:00pm. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Carmel Sanson officiating. Burial followed at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen.

Services were entrusted to the care of Morris Funeral Home.
