Lionel Douglas “Doug” Cochran, 63, of Cowen, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. He was born September 15, 1958 in Richwood, a son of the late James Edward “Eddie” and Wanda Dunlap Cochran.
Doug was a 1976 graduate of Webster County High School, and he worked many years at Brooks Run Coal Company. He also worked for Commercial Testing and Engineering. Doug was a homebody and enjoyed working on the farm, camping, spending time with his grandchildren and tending to the animals on the farm. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Rose Blankenship Cochran, daughters, Amanda (Adam) Hartman of Bridgeport, and Amber (Jack) Cutlip of Cowen, sister, Pam Wyatt of Cowen, brothers, Tim Cochran of Lost Run, and Mike Cochran of Williams River, grandchildren, Cody Cutlip, Hannah Cutlip, Isaac Cutlip, Trinity Beavers, Malachi Beavers, Isaiah Cutlip and Ethan Hartman and his many k-9 companions.
In addition to his parents, sister, Diane Forbes and brother, Scotty Cochran preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Jenny Coleman officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home. Following the service, Doug’s wishes to be cremated will be honored.
