Linda June Wayne

Linda June Wayne, passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on December 27, 1942, in Cowen, she was a woman of deep faith, quiet devotion, and abiding love for her family.

A proud graduate of the Cowen High School Class of 1961, Linda carried throughout her life a steady sense of purpose and care for others. She worked for several years as an aide at Glade Elementary School, a role that reflected her patient spirit and her gift for service. She was a Christian by faith and found comfort and strength in reading her Bible. Her days were often brightened by the simple pleasures she cherished most: gardening, camping, reading, working puzzles, and tending to her flower gardens.

Linda’s life was rooted in family, and her memory will be treasured by those who knew her love firsthand. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Nulter of Cowen; her sister, Mary Jane Ratsloff of Kansas; her grandchildren, Wesley Wayne, Michael Johnson, Jr., Whitney Wayne, Sasha Hayes, Brandon Nulter, and Alex Nulter; and her great-grandchildren, Michael and Amber Spence, Gracie Hayes, Everly McPherson, Owen, Weston, and Addie Wayne, Zachery, Zoey Madison, and Levi Nulter, Jakob and Ivan Nulter, and Trinity Litton. In the generations that follow her, her kindness, her strength, and the warmth of her presence will continue to be felt.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Lemley; her mother, Leafy McCavoy; her husband, David Wayne, Sr.; her son, David Wayne, Jr.; her sister, Shirley Turner; her brother, Johnny Lemley; her grandson, Tony Dodrill; and her son-in-law, Douglas Nulter. Their memories remained part of her life’s story and now are joined with hers in rest.

Visitation will be held on September 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home, 160 Railroad Avenue, PO Box 267, Cowen, WV 26206. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home, with Pastor Craig Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the McAvoy Cemetery on Dennison Run, Upper Glade, West Virginia.
