Lewis Grant Clevenger

Lewis Grant Clevenger, 73, of Camden on Gauley passed away July 12, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 4, 1943, in Webster County, the son of the late Raymond and Myrtle Christian Clevenger.

He spent 37 years as a miner, most recently with Terry Eagle Mining. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having received numerous military honors. He enjoyed camping, traveling, collecting guns and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Annabelle, daughters Drema (David) Perrine of Cowen and Cindy Dempsey of Webster Springs. Sister, Violet (Bernard) Short of Cowen. Grandchildren, Samara Dempsey, Evan Dempsey, Shawn Dempsey, Beth Ann Perrine, Amy Perrine, Holly Perrine, and great-grandson Freeman McCourt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Clevenger.

Services will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 1:00pm at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen with Pastor Jim Varney officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #62 will follow at Black Chapel Cemetery, Camden on Gauley, WV.
