Kenneth Ray Martin, 89, of Craigsville, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown after an extended illness. He was born June 23, 1936, in Craigsville, a son of the late Noell Martin and Ethel Metheny Martin.

Kenneth was a retired employee of AT&T having worked over 30 years and helped build the transatlantic ocean cable. He enjoyed playing bluegrass music, sleeping, and always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. He was a member and trustee of the Alderson Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter Margaret (Dave) Hickman of Summersville, and son Michael Martin of Baltimore Maryland, brother Donnie Martin of Ashland Ohio, sister Lola McHenry of Craigsville, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and many friends and extended family are left to mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons William Martin and Kenneth Martin Jr., brothers Junior Martin, Fred Martin, Leon Martin, Robert Martin, and Jack Martin, and sisters Gladys Harris, Ora Acres, Thelma Martin, Phyliss Martin, and Lola McHenry.

Services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00pm at Morris Funeral Home with Pastor Samuel Luppino officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Cowen, WV. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00pm until the time of service at Morris Funeral Home.
