Joe Edward Salisbury

Joe Edward Salisbury, 67, of Crites Mountain, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday September 21, 2022 at his home after an extended illness. He was born October 29, 1954 in Sutton, West Virginia, a son of the late James and Bonnie Radcliff Salisbury.

Joe was a retired coal miner working over 40 years for Brooks Run Coal Company and Lexie Coal. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, spending time with his family, expressing his love for the lord. He was a former Pastor at Trinity Covenant Church in Erbacon where he continued to show his love for the Lord.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Darlene Roupe Salisbury, children, Misty (Spurgeon), of Little Birch, Shannon (David) Treadway, of Shady Spring, siblings, James Salisbury, Darlene Wolverton, Bonnie Wilson, Macil Lilly, Tracil Salisbury, Kate Rose, John Salisbury, half-brothers, Rick and Jerry Salisbury, half-sister, Patty Salisbury, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Services will be held 2:00PM Monday September 26, 2022 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Brother Larry Armentrout officiating. Burial will follow at the Carpenter Family Cemetery, Erbacon. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday September 26, 2022 from 1:00PM until the time of service.
