Jesse D. Taylor

Jesse D. Taylor, 80 years of age, of Cowen, went home to be with his Lord and savior on January 1, 2022 at Raleigh General Hospital after his fight with previously sustained injuries.

Jesse was preceded in death by the love of his life, Esta “Rae” Taylor, brothers, George Taylor and Eddie “Burton” Taylor all of Cowen.

Surviving is his son, Derrick S. Taylor of Cowen, daughter, Tammy Taylor Poole (Danny) of Salisbury, North Carolina, grandchildren, Jessica Taylor-Davis (Caleb) of Black Mountain, North Carolina and Brandon Taylor (Mikaela) of Hacker Valley, great-granddaughter Kiara Taylor and other friends and family.

Jesse was a veteran of the Vietnam War, electrician in the coal mines, and a jack-of-all-trades in retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family – including his special hunting buddy granddaughter, Jessica. If there’s a special hunting and fishing spot in Heaven you’ll definitely find him there. Jesse loved to work on cars and vehicles.

Per request there will not be any services for Jesse except for Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #62 at his graveside for his close family and friends.
