Jerry Russell Metz

Jerry Russell Metz, 74 of Camden-on-Gauley, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born December 5, 1942, in Richwood, WV, a son of Imogene Bennett Metz and the late Warren B. Metz.

He was a retired supervisor from Long Airdox Corporation. He was a 1961 graduate of Cowen High School. He was a member of Camden Masonic Lodge, #107, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 161. He enjoyed coin collecting, searching for antiques and was a member of the NRA.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Lee Russell Metz, son, Randal (Lynda) Metz of Parkersburg and daughter Angela (Larry) Hoover of Camden-on-Gauley; brother Larry Metz of Cowen, sisters, Barbara Permenlia of Loraine, Ohio and Sue Lewis of Cowen; grandchildren, Colin Garrett Metz, Chloee Nichole Metz, Samuel Kody Short, Whitney Nichelle Ehabe; great-grandchildren, Luke Berry, Everett Ehabe, and Peyton Short.

Service will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 at 1:00pm at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Clarence Thomas officiating. Burial with Masonic Graveside Rites, will follow at the Alex Williams Cemetery, Cranberry Ridge. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00pm, Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
