James Nelson “Jimmy” Wolverton

James Nelson “Jimmy” Wolverton, 60, of Cowen, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 after a sudden illness. He was born November 20, 1958 in Richwood, a son of the late James and Letha Juanita Tharp Wolverton.

Jimmy was a disabled logging equipment operator and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding and working on motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife Candy Wolverton, step-daughter, Brittany Knight of Weston, brother, Steve ( Kaye ) Wolverton of Erbacon, sisters, Dorene (Jake) Lyons of Birch River, Dana Morris of Gassaway, Gayle Helber of Glade View, Carol (Gary) Welch of Cottle, grandchildren, James and Lachelle, and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. He loved those grandbabies.

In addition to his parents brother in law, George Helber and nephew Brian Lyons preceded him in death.

Jimmy’s wishes for cremation have been honored with a memorial service at a later date.
