James Monroe Ramsey

James Monroe Ramsey, 74 of Craigsville passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at his residence. He was born January 17, 1945 in Ivydale, a son of the late Freeman and Hattie Greathouse Ramsey.

James was a retired coal miner with 30 plus years of service. He enjoyed socializing, telling stories, being in the outdoors and making people around him laugh and most of all he was a Christian by Faith.

Surviving are his children, James A. (Erika) Ramsey of Richwood, Crystal ( Andrew) Sentz of Summersville and Amanda (Randy) Zimmerman of Hico, brothers, Kenneth ( Joyce) Ramsey of Virginia, Roger (Naomi) Ramsey of Summersville, sisters, Carla (Alvie) Deal of Summersville and June (Don) Abbot of Alabama, grandchildren, Rylee, Alicia and Dalton, great-grandchildren, Astin and Danica and many other nieces, nephews and family.

In addition to his parents, brothers, Ronnie Ramsey, Gary Ramsey and Bobby Ramsey preceded him in death.

Service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Little Union Baptist Church, Calvin with Pastor Tyler Long officiating. Burial will follow at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin. Friends may call from 1:00 until time of service Friday at the church.
