James H. Mccombs

James H. McCombs passed away on December 3, 2023 at Charleston Area Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Richwood on July 15, 1946 the son of the late Guy E. McCombs and Clara E. White McCombs.

James was a retired custodian for Webster County High School. He enjoyed hunting, mowing grass and being a “grease monkey”/mechanic. James was a Christian by faith and a member of Beaver Run Community Church.

Surviving is his wife, Charlotte Sue McCombs; children, Stephen McCombs and Milissa (Rob) Wyatt all of Camden on Gauley; and six grandchildren, Landen, Bayleigh, Addisynn, Jazleen, Brennan McCombs and Grady Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Withrow, Alice McCombs Tolley, Elizabeth McCombs and Betty Mathes.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 11th, at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Doug Martin officiating. Burial will follow at West Virginia Memorial Gardens in Calvin. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 12:00 pm until time of the service at the funeral home.
