James "Jim" S. Bell

James S. “Jim” Bell, 68, of Cowen, WV, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. He was born December 7, 1949 in Richwood, WV, a son of the late Stanley “Red” and Eltha Gregory Bell.

Jim was a 1967 graduate of Cowen High School, a coal miner with Peerless Eagle Coal Company and worked with Kimberly Industries for 10 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making deer jerky and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; Children: Jeff (Michelle) Bell of Cowen, Amy (Ronnie) Bragg of Cowen, and Beth (Jason)Richardson of Fairmont; Grandchildren: J.R. (Alisha) Bragg, Alexis Richardson, Tavian Richardson, Erika Bell, Jayden Richardson, Connor Bell, and Wyatt Hosey; Great grandchildren, Atalea and Jordan Bragg. Siblings: Linda Fall, John Bell, Tim Bell and Bob Bell, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, January 8, 2018 at Morris Funeral Home, Cowen, with Pastor Junior Hayhurst officiating. Burial with Military Rights conducted by American Legion Post #62 will follow at Handschumacher Cemetery, Upper Glade, WV.
