Harold Gene Rose

Harold Gene Rose, 81, of Summersville, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at home. He was born July 16, 1940 in Braxton County. He was the son of the late Charles Gaylord and Lillian Harriet (Perrine) Rose.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved roaming the country side to dig ginseng and enjoying the outdoors. He loved farming, gardening and growing fruit trees. He was married to his wife Violet Sharon (Barnett) Rose, deceased.

Gene is survived by two daughters; Sharon Irene (Rose) Summers (Mark) of Tallahassee, FL, Pamela Ann Rose of Summersville. Two grandchildren; Brandon Lee (Paige) Summers of Tarpon Springs, FL, Christopher Ryan Summers of Tallahassee, FL. Three great-grandchildren; Kylie Paige Summers, Abigail Grace Summers, and Carter Franklin Summers. A nephew Walter Keith (Penelope) Rose of Geneva, OH and Tracia Lynn (Rose) (Al) Alexander of Mentor, OH whom he loved and treated as his own children. He had one sister; Carol Ann Rose of Erbacon, deceased, and three brothers; Charles Keith Rose of OH, deceased, Randall James Rose of Morgantown, and Darrell Edward Rose of Nettie.

A viewing will be held at Morris Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 beginning at 11am to 1pm with funeral services immediately following. Burial with full military honors will follow at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin, WV.
