I assume I knew about this at the time, but for some reason, I do not remember. I am often bad with names, I am sure mom told me, and I must not have connected the dots. Or my memory is truly failing. I thought a lot this gentleman. He was always so truly kind and welcoming at Trinity. I am sure he is still missed very much by you all. I pray that time has healed your hearts some, as these years have passed. Maybe, this late condolence will be a needed reminder that he was important to many, as you all are. Perhaps, maybe, the Lord thought someone may need a laugh, and my horrible memory and very late message will put a smile on your face, give you a little chuckle or a shake of your head… my love to you all.

Dear Gwen, When I think of the first years of my teaching career I think of you sitting there in the office. I was sad to see that you had lost your husband. Not many people will be able to say they were married for 60 years. I can't imagine how difficult it is for you right now. I hope your memories can comfort you along with your faith in God. I am sure your family will be there for you.

It is with heartfelt sympathy that I write the email. Bato was a very dear friend of my parents. When we was little Bato would come to our home a lot for the evening. He always had a smile on his face and a dime in his pocket for my brother and I. The memories you have of your husband and father will be with you for years to come. May God bless and watch over the family and friends as you go thru this sad time.

My heart fully broke when Mom told me of the loss of Bato. His smiling face and gentle strength in all situations is what is imprinted on my mind when I think of him. My love and prayers go out to his family. He will be sorely missed.
